My 'real' Goal

Recommended Posts

Okay so we all know that when asked why we want to lose weight our answer usually sounds something like this..."I want to be healthy" or something like that. Am I right? Well honestly my real reason is because I want to shop! I want to never have to walk into Lane Bryant or Ashley Stewart ever again!

My shopping buddy is my 20 year old daughter who is a size 4 on a bad day. Although I do not want to be her size, I would love to shop in the same stores as her.

What is your goal?

Well stated!!! I am tired of shopping in "plus size" stores too! Of course I still want to be healthy. Good to have lots of goals!

My "Real" goal.... Lets see I'm a fashionista lol. And when you are smaller there are more clothing options. I know this becasue atll of my sisters are sizes 0-6. The price I paid at Ashley Stewart for a business casual outfit to wear to work could eaisly run about 50-60 dollars and thats on the chep side. Now I can pick up pieces to mix and match here and there from 6-12 dollars since I'm in a normal size and can shop in normal stores. So my real goal was to be healthy but also to shop, look good, and feel good about myself.

My goal is to be able to do everything with my kids like ride bikes go on walks going swimming. But I have found how fun it actually is to go clothes shopping and not have to wonder if something would fit or not. Its funny I would go into regular not plus size stores with friends and I would go straight to the accessories not the clothes but now clothes are starting to fit me in there and it has lit a fire in me to like to shop haha.

My goal was not to be fat anymore. I was over it. It makes everything difficult... getting in a car... airplane travel, buying furniture (chairs specifically) , walking, shopping, standing, finding clothes and shoes to wear....... ..... you name it ..... it was such a chore to just live .

And I turned 50 and my mother had just died at 79 of complications from being obese the last 20 years of her life.... She hated that she was a burden on me. I decided that wasnt going to be me in 30 years.

I was sick and tired of being the fat girl!! Yes, part of me wanted to be healthy, but more than that I want to look and feel sexy. I want me husband to be proud to take me on his arm and show me off (not that he wasn't, but in my mind being smaller will increase this). I want to be his hot sexy wife because he deserves it and I deserve to feel that way.

Plus now that I have droped 43 lbs shoping is an aweing moment. The first pair of jean I ever owed were size 22 W, now I wear a 16!! Plus picking up large sweaters instead of 2X and they fit and look good make me feel great!

I wanted to keep up with my kids and be a positive influence on them. Since being banded my children have benefitted by doing things I never would have done before! Even just playing on the swingset without getting winded after 5 minutes! We're campers, beach goers and we DANCE everyday!!! That was my goal! Now my goal is to maintain and not fall off the wagon.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
