Day 3, Still Not Very Hungry.

Recommended Posts

It is day 3 post op, and my surgeon told me to be on Clear liquids day one and then full liquids day 2-14, yesterday i made a Protein shake- 8 oz. and added a cup of sugar free pudding, I litterally took 7 drinks(sips) of it, and have to remind myself just to drink h2o. Im just not interested. is it my pain meds? anesthesia side effect? I mean it's not normal to be completely uninterested is it?

also, I snuck into my work break room yesterday and weighed myself, and since prior to surgery, I am only down 2 lbs, seems weird considering i havent eaten in 4 days...is the swelling and/or gas causing a false weigh in?

Very soon after surgery you've got swelling, Water weight and bloat. I didn't see the scale move until a week or more after my surgery. It's early in the healing process,

I also didn't have any desire to drink much less eat the first two weeks, I did find that sugar free Popsicles were my friends those first weeks.

Get a good accurate scale if you feel like your current one fluctuates too much, my old one was driving me insane (I'm a daily weigher) so I got the awesome Eatsmart Precision Plus...I love that thing :)

Hang in there and try to drink, drink, drink! Forget about weight loss. Your stomach is swollen right now and it will take at least a month for it to heal. If you don't drink Protein, your body will begin burning muscle and you don't want that to happen. The first few days you may have to force yourself to sip continually. Don't let yourself get dehydrated. sugar-free popsicles were my saving grace, too, but they don't have protein, so you really need to concentrate on that. Good luck. Hopefully, the time will go by quickly for you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
