sixty pounds in a year?

that is fabulous

My surgon told me it takes about two years for most to loose all their excess weight. This second part of the jouney, where the body starts fighting you is the hardest part.

You got to work out religously

keep track of your portions and what you are eating

and make sure you hydrate get in those 64 oz. of Water or other low cal water baised drink daily.

You are awosme and you will get to goal.

I'm aobut 1/2 way thru my jouney too,

I've lost about sixty with the band after placement 17lbs preop for a total of around 74lbs. gone.

I have aproximately another eighty to go till i reach my goal. I'm giving myself another year to get there. My doctor says some bodies go into a resting phase cuz rapid weightloss leads to dramatic skin sagg wich is not good.

Take this time to maybe do a massive closet overhaul? Go window shopping at some regular sized clothes to prepare yourself for the new clothes you might want to puchase after you hit your goal.

My husband actually encourages me to go into some of the smaller sized dress shops and start trying on clothes just to get use to how regular cothes feel. It is actually very encouraging to get a pair of regular sized slacks on and have them almost fit. Because i can say to myself ok i'll come back in three months or 30 more pounds down and see what happens.

You are doing amazing keep me posted.

Thanks guys, I am happy about it. I'm about 15 pounds heavier than where I wanted to be but I'll keep going. Also I haven't had a fill since June, I go in tomorrow so I'm excited:)

Happy Bandaversary! My surgery date is set for 12/12/12. I'm excited and nervous. But mostly excited. I'm doing all my doctor's visits and I actually attended a post-op support group meeting. It was great. I've started cutting smaller pieces of food and I'm practicing chewing each bite 30-40 times.

If I lose 60 pounds in one year - l will be ecstatic!

Way to go. Keep up the great work.

Awesome! Yeah, your life will change. Everything is based off choices. It's a challenge at first but you'll get used to it fast. I'm not complaining about the 60, I just missed my personal goal.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
