  9. I received my bill for $41K two weeks ago. I'm a cash patient and signed all kinds of documents stating the only thing i would be required to pay beside the original $10K was if i had to have a hernia repair. Which they repaired. I called my surgeon immediately about the bill and they said they would take care of it. I think its a lack of communication between the hospital and surgeon. I am staying on top of them about it because i don't want that crap on my credit. Crazy how they only charged me $10K and then the bill comes and says $41K.

  13. my doc says I can't take Calcium and Multivitamin together... i was literally taking Vitamins all day. I bought the regular Centrum adult vitamins and have been breaking them up... It doesn't say anywhere on the bottle NOT to break them up. I only have to take that once a day instead of 4 times a day with the chewables. I'd prefer once a day because i was literally taking vitamins every two hours and it was hard to keep up with... does anyone know if this okay? I also have to take Vitamin d, Biotin. Not to mention the b12 shots i have to give myself. It's like a job keeping up with the vitamins.

  17. I use unjury chocolate splendor. It's really good... I mix it with unsweetened almond milk. Recently discovered almond milk and it's half the calories of skim milk. Works good in coffee too!
  18. Congrats on your will power!!!! Did they know you've had the surgery and still asked you to come "look" at the food? If so, that's really inconsiderate! I hope that's not the case! Keep it up!!! I'm getting banded a week from today... are you still not hungry? when was your surgery?
  19. Whoa girly! that's fantastic... So proud of my girl! You're doing AWESOME!!!! I haven't weighed myself yet... I'll try to do that this weekend. So glad to have you and Katie in my life now too!!! You two have been a great support system. I look forward to getting skinny together... And then we're going cruising! A well deserved vacation! You rock!!!

  21. I really believe that anesthesia can cause you to feel blue... I know it's been a few weeks but I really think it can linger and make you feel down. This surgery wasn't minor... You're body is going through tons of changes... Also your mind and emotions too... I think it'll pass in a few days. Hang in there! :-)
  22. Insurance can turn you down for gallbladder surgery? That's crazy! That's a medical problem, not some random surgery. Surely they can't make you live like that! I would try to appeal if you can. I am a self pay... my insurance just doesn't cover bariatrics on my policy. They wouldn't even consider it. So i understand. Good luck!
  23. My pre-op is super easy... I basically am on a high protein, low carb diet. I don't have to drink the shakes, but i'm drinking them in the morning. Counting calories... 900-1000 per day. I got lucky... But the post op seems like it's going to be so hard. 2 weeks clear liquids, 2 weeks protein shakes, 2 weeks mushies, then regular diet. Thanksgiving falls under the protein shake phase. Blah! BUT - I'll be on regular diet by Christmas and hopefully like 30lbs lighter.
  24. I'm in Austin... having surgery the same day! How's the pre-op diet going? I started today but my diet is super duper easy... Just low carb, high protein 900-1000 calories a day.
  25. You're gonna do great! Is it only because you're having the ultrasound that you can't have any liquid?
