Hello! I was banded 3/27/13. And for me, it was because of years of yo-yo dieting, and ALWAYS gaining the weight back. I did my research, and decided on the band, because I did not want to re-route my insides and have them cut up. But whatever you decide, make sure you do the research, and do what's best for you. Thank you all so much for your kind words and encouragement! Maybe my fault was not telling her til after my surgery, but my head was in a good place and I didn't want any negativity. I didn't even tell my own mother til after surgery. I didn't want a so called intervention the night before surgery. And I explained this to her. I'm just going to give her some space, like many of you have suggested, and continue on my road ro a healthier lifestyle.

I decided to tell a select few about me getting the band because I did not want to hear all of the negative comments because of their ignorance on how the band works etc. Well I made the mistake of telling a very good friend of over 25 years that i'm banded. We were both smaller together, now we are both overweight. Well she wont return my calls, and when I text her she either wont reply or she will make up an excuse that shes so busy and will call me back, but she never does. I guess I just have to let her deal with it and hopefully she will come around. I hate to see many years of friendship gone because of this personal choice I made to be healthy. Has anyone had a similar experience? And what did you do about it?

I was banded on 3/27/13 and I can't burp like I normally would, I feel it coming then nothing. Is this normal?

I was banded yesterday also. I woke up in a lot of pain but nurse gave me pain meds, and pain level went to about a 3. Was up and walking every hour and im still very sore of course, but im feeling ok!

Hello everyone as of this morning I became an official bandster!!! I woke in a lot of pain I wont lie, but the nurse quickly gave me meds til I was comfortable. I have been up walking, and I have minimal pain. I did throw up today, it wasn't violent, I burped and out came the crystal light. I think I drank too much too fast, but I will call the doctor tomorrow to let him know. Please keep me in your prayers for a speedy recovery.

My first appointment was 1/15/13 my surgery is scheduled for March 27th.

Good luck to you! I am on March 27th and no matter what negative people have to say, or whatever they try to do to talk me out of it, this is whats best for me.
