I had my lapband surgery last monday .march 25 and I have the same problem,I feel the need to but it dont come out! =\

Just went for my post op appointment today and mentioned the very same thing! I feel like I have to burp and the air doesn't come out, gets pushed back down. Totally normal according to the doc, lots of swelling and when your stomach is being tightened its all affected. Once the band loosens up you should be able to burp :-)

And burp, and burp and burp! At almost three years out, I burp frequently (and loudly ). Be careful what you wish for!!!

Best of luck to all of you though....

I actually burp less since I was banded. I find that air tends to come back up faster and escapes during the normal eating process rather than going into my stomach. My George of the Jungle move if I feel like I need to burp and its not moving is pounding on my chest at the top of my sterum. If you really have to burp it will move some air.

Lol

I do this weird hiccup/burp combo. It's really attractive. Lol never really got the hiccups before, but now I get a single hiccup/burp a lot throughout the day. It's like the hiccup brings the burp to the surface. lol I've gotten used to it.

Yes hiccup burp combo! Me too!
