  1. I take 3 fiber pills every night. I'm a year out and haven't had a problem.
  2. BMI puts too much pressure on people. I think it's a joke. My doctor wants me to weigh somewhere around 206lbs. Which would still, to a bmi chart, make me "obese". He said there are too many factors, especially for women, that the chart doesn't consider. And I'm pretty sure the only time a bmi number was used for me was when trying to get approval from insurance. Lol. You're doing awesome and I loved this post!
  3. I've had lapband with plication for almost 10 months. I've never had any problems (knock on wood), haven't been stuck, pbing, slimming or anything. I have NOT gotten any fills and I've lost over 100lbs. It's been the greatest thing I've ever done for myself and I hope you have an amazing journey! Good luck.
  4. When were you banded? I had sharp gas pains there for awhile.. And if you're still healing, it can worsen the pain.. Still will randomly get gas pains around my port today and I'm 7 months out.
  5. Whenever I crave chocolate, I get David's chocolate toasted almonds. They aren't dipped in chocolate, just toasted with cocoa powder on them.
  6. Lately I've been leaving out the olive oil.. Saves about 30 calories and can't tell a difference.
  7. The bottom was! You can spread out the crust a little thinner and it'd probably be really crunchy. Idk if its because I haven't had bread/crust in so long but I actually prefer this kind of crust.
  8. My Dr told me not to really worry about the calories as long as I was getting all of my protein. I didn't keep track of calories until I was eating regular food.
  9. I do 2 flintstones a day.
  10. Thought I would share! It's sooooo good! And healthy!!
  11. I've always had severe cramps.. They've been worse the past couple of months, but my period has gotten lighter (used to go 7-9 days and now the past two months 4-5 days). I mark it up to my body is changing and it's confused. Lol.
  12. I kinda just had to prepare myself for them. Stop way I was doing and bend a little. It helped. Lol. Mine was a hiccup/burp combo and I felt them coming ahead of time. I still do them to this day, but not painful anymore. I feel for you. I have a high pain tolerance but that was the worst part of my healing.
  13. I was banded 3/8/13 with plication and still no fills. Kinda lucky (knock on wood) and found my green zone early. So far, including pre op diet, I'm down 68 pounds. Everyone is different. Enjoying the journey, rediscovering who I am.
  14. My dr's office says 800-1200 calories. My dr said as long as I'm getting enough protein and choosing protein first not to really stress about calories.
  15. In a little too Irish to tan. Lol. Just burn and freckle. But a friend had a different type of surgery and her dr said it was ok to tan as long as she put sunscreen over her scar. I think because it's new skin and could burn really easily.
  16. I had to put a small pillow kinda under my belly to support it. It helped a lot.
  17. I keep forgetting to ask my dr and the situation hasn't come up yet, but what do you do if you have to take meds with food?
  18. My fave is longhorn steakhouse's Parmesan crusted chicken! Ugh it's heaven! 1/2 of a chicken breast is 345 calories, 34.5 protein, and 6.5 carbs. Fills me up and I have left overs for another meal.
  19. My dr says 800-1200. I kinda stay around 900-1000 just in case I figured something wrong. Lol
  20. I'd rather be healthy with loose skin.
  21. I read somewhere that people should wait 6 months because some have a "trading addiction" (trading food addiction for whatever) problem. Idk if that's true, but that's what I've been kinda sticking with.
