I was banded August 30 and I ate a salad from subway I did get full and had a lot of salad left over. Do you all think it was too early to eat salad I am so full . I had an ensure for Breakfast a small mash potatoe from KFC for lunch and the subway salad a small amount. What do you think starting weight 357 pre-op 352 current weight 325.6

Personally I think that you are missing important nutrients and Protein in your diet. A salad has pretty much nothing in it. Potatoes are carbs and an ensure drink is okay but in all reality you shouldn't be drinking your Protein. I would think you should be eating your protein at every meal. If your salad had chicken in it and you ate the chicken first that would be great. Mashed potatoes are not a great choice. I am about 2 weeks behind you and am not sure I could do a salad. My instructions on salad is to introduce them very slowely.

Good Luck

You need a lot more Protein than those options give you. An equation for protein is body weight x 0.3 = protein needed in grams. Most recommend at least 70g a day to start. How is your Water intake?

I ate a salad with chicken on it from Carl's Jr. today and I was banded 9/4. I had no problems eating it and was also full before I finished the whole thing.

I think the subway salads have lunch meat and cheese on them right?

If you are trying to lose at a good rate and get the correct nutrition I would stick to 3-4 oz of Protein, 1/2 c veggies and 1/4 c startch at every meal in that order. I limited myself to 1000 calories and always ate my Protein and veggies first and usually could not eat more than a bite of startch. Your calorie count may differ but for a bandster in the green zone or even before that's about what you need to shoot for.

Good luck

My doctor advised me to avoid lettuce - in his words "It's like chewing paper" and can't be chewed to the consistency of applesauce and would therefore be hard to digest. It also has very limited nutritional value.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
