I'm 5 1/2 days post op. I'm still having a lot of pain in my upper abdominal area...right under my chee chee's. About how much longer will this last? Sitting and bending over are the worst!

The gas pain is gone, hallelujah! ;)

Actually I was thinking it could still be gas. I thought I was over mine after the first few days but when I asked about a pain I kept having even a week later they told that was gas too. It will get better... good luck! Also could be just from them moving around in there and stretching things, bugging things etc. It does get better I promise.

Is it on your port side?

The port area is swollen, but it's all the upper area from both sides. Just under the port, north.

Well I've never heard of a chee chee before! I assume that is another word for breasts?

I had a lot of discomfort on my port side and it was very uncomfortable for me to sit. It actually took me about 4 weeks for it to subside. In my case, sitting made it worse as it felt like my organs were jabbing into my ribs. My doctor told me it was because I was still swollen. It has since gone away.

I am about the same number of says post op as you. I do still have pain but the pain and the gas have gotten better. I called yesterday and got some anti nausea meds because my tummy was so irritated and jumbly....is that a word Probably not. When I called they said the pain was normal and could still be gas but most likely from all the internal swelling. They said I would likely turn a corner in the next day or two. I did feel better last night.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
