2.5 Months Out. Plateau. Ugh.

Recommended Posts

Hey all. This is mostly just a check in.

I had surgery July 11th and I'm down about 35 pounds and I've lost a 22 total inches since surgery. I'm pretty pleased but starting to get discouraged. I've been at a plateau for about three weeks now.

I've started doing Crossfit training about a month ago and initially saw good loss and now it's tapered off. I have no idea if I'm eating enough or too much. My daily calorie intake bounces around 1000-1500. On days I don't work out I tend to eat less, but a few hours after cross fit I want to eat everything.in.the.world. Trying to watch carbs - no more than a 100 gms a day and ussually less, and mostly from potatos. I've had a hard time getting ahold of the nutritionist so I'm feeling a little lost.

I have my second fill tomorrow (which couldn't come soon enough) as I only have 1cc in my band and hardly feel any restricition at all. I'm hoping that tomorrow I can get a few more cc's in there to be noticeable.

Anyway, if anyone has any feed back that would be wonderful. If not, hey just checking in and hope Bandland is treating the rest of you well. :)

We have one forum member, B-52 is his handle, and his quote, that is so true is: "Until there's restriction, it's just another diet"

This is so true. I stopped losing weight after my first two weeks post surgery. Then I lost and gained nothing for the next 3.5 months. With the help of my dietician and my 3rd fill, I started to lose weight and it kept coming off. Just try to eat healthy till you get that fill that gets you closer to the green zone. It does get better, but it's a slow, slow process.

Thanks 2much! Hopefully sooner rather than later I'll be kicking back into gear. :) I do need to go buy new pants tomorrow so that should be some encouragement!

I've found that while I still get hungry around the same times a day, I am satisfied with less when I do eat. With more fills it will get easier. Plus remember that if you are starting to workout you will likely build muscle and the start with you either gain or don't lose due to the fact that muscle weighs more that fat.

Also remember with the working out make sure you are drinking enough, especially since you are cross training.

I was getting frustrated also, walking everyday, going to the gym 6-7 days a week, hungry between meals. The nutritionist informed me that it was called "lap-band hell" and it could take 4-6 fills until it gets to the green zone (which is 24-36 weeks! if anyone is counting lol). But I got the band for the "consequences", cant get a case of the F-its. I was measured at the gym tonight after a month, I lost 8 lbs & 7.5 inches for a total of 33 since 07/19/12, so not too shabby. I have to remember this when I get the feelings that this isnt working. I get my 2nd fill 10/8/12, I have no idea how much is in there now, I just know its not enough lol but it will change  . GOOD LUCK all

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
