I didn't tell anyone but dh for awhile. Eventually told my dad and step mom and then one sister. So far that's it and I'm glad I've kept it small but only because I can't stand the endless asking that will come with it. I have been discouraged lately but things are getting better... it's just so personal so good luck in what you decide.

Sorry that you're not happy about telling people, but this is about you not them. Keep your chin up and screw them :P

I don't plan on hiding it. Whoever wants to give me ill-informed misinformation if going to feel 2" tall right after I'm done refuting, so they can go ahead. I have a great support group, though, so I don't think that's going to be a real problem for me. I can see hiding it, though, if you have co-workers or family that's going to act inappropriately over it.

The haters can just go ahead and drink their hater-ade.

I knew this was going to work. There wasn't any Doubt because I wanted it that badly!! I didn't tell people at work until the first hundred lbs was gone and someone asked how I did it. But personal friends knew beforehand... Hubby was so excited for me I think he blabbed first...and then it was over the holidays so they all saw me not drinking alcohol or eating munching at parties so I just embraced it.

And now they all cannot get over the difference.

I am choosing to be honest because my friends and family who know me will see the big changes I am making and will also want to know what my "secret" is. I also think that will keep me acountable. It's your choice of course, I just can't imagine not blurting it out!

I didn't announce it to the world when I went on the pill or blood pressure tablets. Neither did I announce it when I had my surgery. I just kept it to immediate family who I wanted to know in case of any complications with the surgery. Now I am happy to share, especially when people who have a weight problem ask. But I do regard the surgery as my personal medical information and have dealt with in the same way.

There is nothing dishonest about not telling people. In the early days I would say that I was watching what I was eating plus exercising more - true on both counts.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
