Just wondering if there are any of you from Illinois going here. If so I would like to know how your surgery went and how you are doing. Good luck to all of us on our journeys!!!

Threekidsmom, when is your surgery scheduled? It would be nice to have some other people to talk with on here, lets keep in touch.

Surgery was December of 2009. Doing great. Been at goal weight for a while now, actually below it. As weird as it is, I think maintaing weight is almost harder than the losing part. My bmi is in a healthy range (23.?) and my body fat percent is around 21%. Just had a Tummy Tuck a month ago and feeling great. Very happy with my decision to have the band!

Well congradulations, great job!!! Im on day 5 of preop diet, hope im not eating to much on it. Getting pretty nervous.

I have lost 170lbs. I do have problems eating some foods, but that is because I choose to keep my band on the tight side. It is all preference and for me, this works. Granted I have been thinking of having some taken out because I have been weight lifting and I need more calories in order to build the muscle that I want. I can not get the required calories in for that.

That preop diet can be a bear. Once you get past the first week, it does get easier.

What part in Illinois are you in? I'm 2 1/2 hours west of Clinton. Sucks to have such a drive, but I do love it there.

I live near Bloomington so it is about 50 minutes from where I live but only about 25 minutes from where I work

I am waiting on my psych report to come back. Then just waiting for the information to go to my insurance. I am frustrated the report is takin so long. (I am impatient) I meet the criteria for the insurance so hopefully I can get scheduled ASAP.

I like the staff a lot with the exception of one lady. I am not sure of her name but she is not friendly like everyone else.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
