Is It Just Me?

Has any6one else gained weight post surgery with the swelling? I've had really no side effects, and feel great. My incisions are kind of itchy, and I do feel like I'm healing from within now. My surgery was Thursday and I'm 8 to 10 pounds up.I don't feel like I have gas, I just feel a little bloated. Come on guys, any input?

Yes, I did gain a few pounds post op with my band surgery, and 2 weeks ago gained 4 pounds post op with my gallbladder surgery which is also gone now.

Your body is likely retaining fluids...that's what it felt like for me. This is a time to focus yourself on healing, and not your scale. Do your best to remain compliant with your post op instructions, and the weight will come off.

I agree with Sojourner - you're probably retaining fluids. Try drinking more Water to ease the retention. If you stick with your post-op instructions, and stay high Protein, the weight will come off. There's no medical reason why you won't lose.

You might try counting the calories of what you're eating to make sure you're not accidentally eating a lot. I know the first couple weeks after my surgery I was drinking too much fruit juice and wasn't thinking about how many calories I was consuming because I wasn't *eating* that much.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
