Six days post op here. Good for you!!! I feel like I'm "eating" too much liquid, but I added it all up today on My Fitness Pal and it's still under 700 calories, so I guess the band is working already!

Stay hydrated and take it easy.

Right after my surgery when I talked to my doctors office I told them I had no energy! The nurse said tht I probably wasn't getting enough protien, and to add a shake. So if your cleared for full liquids yet you might consider doing that.

How many calories should be consumed post op? Is there a certain number you should reach? Or is calories no longer the question, it's all about Protein?

Most doctors will say don't worry about losing wieght so early on, just worry about healing. That being said most also recommend sugar free products. And yes getting protien in is very important.

In a few weeks when your able to eat more you want to make good food choices. I personally don't have a problem staying under 1200-1000 calories a day.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
