Anyone Getting Banded In September?

Recommended Posts

I was banded yesterday at 10 I was home by 2 was hardly in any pain last night except for the gas. This morning it just felt like I pulled muscle in my stomach. Walking def helps. And I've been taking gas x strips. They help too.

I had my surgery Tuesday and came home yesterday. I am sore by the biggest incision and I know when i'm gonna burp quite a bit because my shoulder will hurt. I've been sipping and walking. I'm nervous to last on my side.

At the hospital I am so happy that I brought chapstick!

Thats soreness is where your port is. I had the problem of not being able to lay on my side for more than 2 weeks...I am still unable to lay on my stomach and I was banded 9/7/12. Glad you are able to burp as I didn't have thay luxury. Gas would move but I would never burp...then it would just sit there and hurt...ugh. The worst of it is over for you. Congrats for taking the big step.

I am now 3 days post op, yesterday was so rough had problems keeping some of the antiacid medicines down they had prescribed me which had all day made me nauseated. I am doing 75% better then yesterday Decided to lay off the meds until my post op visit. I quit taking my pain meds the 2nd day I was home it kept me tired and not moving around enough. Today and not to be vulgar was able to fart and it felt amazing to not come up as a burp. Hang in there it gets better and better every day just try to do as many fluids as you can.

Does anyone else have dizziness? I got so dizzy in the shower I couldn't even finish my shower. But im thinking its bc I got in a hot shower after taking my pain meds. Or maybe my sugar was low?

Yes, I get dizzy when I stand in one place. I have to either keep walking or lay down.

I am still getting dizzy in various circumstances. Not sure if it is related to blood sugar, as I don't have any of my other typical symptoms. If it continues, it goes on my list of questions for the doc next time I see him.

Thats not vulgar hun...that's why were here. We understand. I remember my first post op fart. It was heaven. That was the only way I lost my gas. It would move up for a burp and never come out. That's why I was in pain so long. I was taking gas strips. I never enjoyed farting so much in my life. :-)

Lol glad my using the word fart didn't offend anyone. Today I moved onto sugar free pudding, and yougurt plus all the fluids. I am still trying to sense out feelings of fullness. I also got my medicine down today I cut it into 4s and took it with 4 sips of Water it seems to have worked couldn't do the crushed up medicine it made me get sick and then feel sick the whole day. Hope everyone is feeling well!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
