I everyone... I am 2 days post surgery and feeling hungry I am drinking plenty of fluids. Tonight I had a cup of creamy strained tomatoe Soup. Is this normal?

I am two days post op as well. Really hungry yesterday. Not bad today and able to advance to thinned foods. Just had 2 ounces of thinned Greek yogurt with dry crystal light sweetener. It was really good and now I am full. Can't believe it! Did the Soup help?

Oh good, I'm glad to hear that! The Soup did help....I have had no problems otherwise, where did you get your surgery?

How are you feeling?

I think everyone is different, but by days 3 and 4 post op I was verrrry hungry! And I was nervous to move on to anything thick until day 5 post op. I'd say it's probably normal. I think it has to do with the amount of Protein you're able to get. I was barely getting 1 gran of protein per day the first few days. But on day 5 post op I decided to move on to thicker liquids, which for me included Protein Shakes. I had about half a Protein Shake and I felt so much better! Now I'm 7 days post op and have had nothing but creamed Soups and I don't feel nearly as hungry as I did a few days ago.

I was just at the grocery store and bought some gatoraid - it was the 'recovery' kind with 16g of Protein per serving. I am a month out and just stocking up on stuff, so I have no idea if something that liquid with that much protien will help with hunger or not..........if anyone know, let me know. Have a feeling this might be good for the first few days post op - liquid.< /p>

**I just looked and it has 13g of sugar........not sugar free, might save it for later, but something I would consider during recovery if I need to get liquids in.

My surgery was in an outpatient surgery center. Main complaint is left shoulder pain. Been walking 2-3 times a day and using a heating pad. Gas X as well. How are you feeling?

What instructions did you doctor give? I was not allowed smooth Soups until day 8. I would "eat" more of the foods you are allowed rather than moving ahead in the "diet" schedule.

I am allowed anything that runs off a spoon on day 2-14...........soups, pudding, yogarts, smoothies

Fat free Soup or broth

Low cal Jello

sugar free Popsicle

Cream of wheat made thin

This is what I am allowed from day 2-7

Once you start on solids you shouldn't be drinking your meals. This is the time where you begin to learn how to eat a proper lapband friendly diet. Not a diet as we once were all on, but a diet of nutritious food, Protein, veggies and low glycemic index type of foods. You may be able to drink that gatorade after you have a fill but I wouldn't consume it in place of real food. Liquids will pass right through your stoma and will not give you the satiety you seek.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
