August Roll Call
Exactly! I was banded on 8/14 and went back to work today. I noticed that everyone that looked at me stared at my stomach! Then...one man (jerk) said "well I see that the boobs go first!" I was able to start eating regular foods early on and would have loved to have lost more weight than I did, but I have lost! I think that you made a great point because we need to heal and prepare our bodies for change. Take Care! Gina Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

Hungry!
I was banded on 8/14 and for the first 3-4 days I wasn't even hungry. I started getting hungry and by day 7 I attempted smooth foods and when I went in for my follow up I explained to the doctor that I had already started eating but was getting full after around 1/2 cup. He said that was perfect and I set an appt for 4 wks later for a fill if needed. Since coming home I can't seem to eat enough and dont feel any restriction in the band. I am so upset and disgusted with myself. I seem to be able to eat anything and everything without any problem. I haven't had carbonation or caffeine. I am doing pretty well with not eating and drinking at the same time.... I just need some feedback! I have been putting my intake into myfitnesspal and use TampaGina as my username. Please add me and if you have any suggestions let me know! Good luck everyone! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

Day 8 Post Op
I'm Day 9 and saw my Dr today who said that things were going perfect. I wasn't sure because he likes u to be on a liquid diet until Day 14 Post Op and I started eating some mushys a day ago. I was getting hungry and so tired of Protein shakes and sweets since starting them 16 days Pre-Op. He said if it feels okay to eat things than I can...just try getting lots of protein in first. Next appt for fill is in 4 wks if needed...I guess if I am only eating 1/2 cup to 1 cup and I am used to eating a FEW cups of food. I do get full after eating that amount - i just wonder if it should be harder for me to eat...ugh Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

Grieving The Food Already
Well I don't know how to feel today...I'm 7 days post op and have been so tired of shakes and liquids for the last 3 weeks that I needed food! Last night I got some egg drop soup and it was wonderful...today I have had refried beans from taco bell w onions, sour cream, beef, tomatoes n cheese...and then later had some KFC mashed potatoes n gravy. Everything went down well...I just don't know if I'm ruining everything or not...ugh! Help!

I Feel So Hungry!
okay, I just ate something really good and dont know if I am going to regret it or not! I had taco bell refried beans with sour cream and onion...then mixed the inside of a mexi melt in it (meat, tomatoes n cheese). It was so good and easy to eat that I am scared! 7 days post op...

I Feel So Hungry!
I am curious...your Dr used the phrase "you can have anything that you can sip through a straw," he told you not to actually use straws didnt he?

I am as well Pennie..I know that's the side where my port is...is that where yours is as well?

Pain In Left Shoulder
I am having the exact pain 6 days post op...I also had a hernia repair as well. I hear that the surgery alone aggravates a specific nerve that is connected to the shoulder. I would imagine that it cld continue for awhile...but I hope not! I would check w your Dr because that nerve cld still be the issue. Good Luck!

Working Out??
That's a good question! I am 6 days post op and just went to get my sons school supplies tonight. We were in Staples for an hour and I was miserable! All the signs point to me possibly being dehydrated...but I really felt like crap! I think it will be a little while before I do much more than walking...but I'm sure it just depends on the person. Good Luck!
