Knocking On Green's Door

Recommended Posts

I have been wondering since getting banded what the Green Zone would feel like and today I realized that I may be knocking on the door. I was banded 4/20/12 and got my second fill on 8/9/12 for a total of 6cc's. Since I got the fill on Thursday I felt normal (felt light restriction since being banded) but today I have not been hungry and have pretty much had to force myself to eat. When I did eat, I could only eat close to a full cup before feeling like the desire was just gone. Since I have no valid experinece with the Green Zone (only what I have read here) I don't think I am quite there but I may be by my next fill in September.

I want to Celebrate but not prematurely..I know the band is fickle. I know each individaul is different but after a fill, how long does it take for the fill to actually kick in?? Is there a standard?:unsure:

I got my second fill 8/8/12 which put me at 5ccs in an 11cc band. The first two days I have to be on liquids then I can eat solids again. I definitely felt a difference after this adjustment. I cant say I'm in the "green zone" but I feel as though I'm close.

I hope you are in that magic place and that is last very long for you. Best wishes.

Lala

It's when your skin starts turning green from all the vegetables you have to eat everyday

It's actually when after a few fills you finally get the right restriction for you, where you don't feel hungry and can sustain a desired weight loss without starving.

I'm hoping I get there soon myself.

And I hope that's what my green zone feels like !! :D

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
