Peri-Menopausal Effects On Tom And Hunger.

Recommended Posts

I am 46 and peri-menopausal. Have not had the TOM since January, but this month I very lightly spotted for a day. Barely noticeable. But man, the hunger I felt before that and a week after that day, was huge and hard to control!

Can you still have phantom hunger when you have no TOM?

I'm so hungry! One day, the thought of food turns me off, then another day, I'm famished. This also happens in the same day!

I've been eating fruits, veggies, Protein and yogurt. I'm kind of grazing, which I know is bad. I'm so disapointed in myself. I have no saline in my band, I'm thinking of asking for a fill.

But again, can you have phantom hunger from non existant TOM's? I just know I am....

I'm 51 & was banded last September. My periods were about every 4 months. I started the day after surgery. I've lost 99 lbs. I started having periods more often but not regular. I had read that estrogen is stored in fat. I personally feel that since I've been losing, estrogen is being released. And, I have gotten hungry around that tom. Hang in there. And, get a fill if you need one. It doesn't always take away hunger but it doesn't feel good to overeat. good luck!

I went though a very fast radiation induced menopause nd my appetite - in particular my cravings for sugar absolutely skyrocketed. It took HRT and testostetone therapy yo get it back under control.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
