Any Idea What This Pain Could Be?

Recommended Posts

i am 14 months status post my lap band. generally i've had good success minus a few episodes of being too tight, getting stuck or the other usual band issues, but i have a new symptom and it's freaking me out. when i woke up this morning i had some pain about 1 inch to the right of my port. i have never had this before. i havent worked out recently so i'm having a hard time thinking i pulled something. it's feel sore, but when i press on it, that's when it hurts. i just dont get it! i got a fill over a month ago and i am self pay so that was $250! i have an appointment with my regular doc on this wed coming up and i'm hoping maybe she can tell me something. if not i have to find out if i'm not getting an adjustment just seeing the doc if i have to pay the $250( God I hope not!) anyhow i was just wondering if anyone else had this issue at some point. thanks for all your feedback in advance

jenn, i dont know but could it be scar tissue?

i am sure its nothing but just have your dr take a gander at it.

you may just have pulled it and the tissue reforming...

hang in there okay :)

my port is located on my left side directly below my rib cage.

Well after blood work, urine samples..CT scan of the abdomen everything is fine...said i have gastritis..thinks my band my be a little too tight..hmmmmm not so sure about that. was prescribed pepcid. they gave me a GI cocktail and within minutes i felt better..and it only took 4 hours waiting in the urgent care. well at least i feel better.

thanks for your input guys!

This might be a stupid question, but does this go away after you take the pepcid for awhile? I have pain on the opposite side of my port (port on right, pain on left) for the last 5 days, I mentioned it to the nurse at my fill yesterday and they were not sure what it was and said it was probably a pulled muscle, I don't recall pulling any muscles, but who knows.

Thanks Jennifer, the Pepcid did not help me, so I don't think I have the same problem, but I'm glad you feel better!

2012, U sound as if u have the same problem that I sometimes have. Approximately every other month I get that pain. It can last from 1-3 weeks. Dr.says pulled muscle, but every time? and I can never remember doing it. second Dr. dosen't even know why. I also have been too tight and have a huge dilated upper stomach now. Anyone else have this?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
