I'M APPROVED IN TN!!! and ? about Synthroid

Recommended Posts

Hi, all!!!

So excited--just received my "This surgery is medically necessary" letter! Woo-hoo!!! I should get my surgery date this Monday.

I really thought I was going to have to put up more of a fight. Yesterday, I just sent in old weight loss journals--with pictures and all. Guess I didn't need to send them after all.

I have a question for those of you who take Synthroid for hypothyroidism. My doctor said I could just crush the pill and take it that way--but I've heard you shouldn't crush thyroid meds. What do you all do?

I can't wait to join you all on the other side....

Grats on your approval! How exciting!!

I have taken my synthroid from day one with no problems at all. They are plenty small enough.

I haven't had my first fill yet but my surgeon told me that the Synthriod shouldn't ever cause a problem. You can always call your Pharmacist (Sp?) to ask about crushing.

Congratulations on your approval! Glad it was nice and easy--that's the way it should be.

Synthroid pills are small enough that they don't need to be crushed or broken. At least, mine sure are. Anything smaller than a pencil eraser will be fine, pretty much whenever.

Yea Dana!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

You got your letter!!!!!

They looked at all of my pills today at my first pre-op meeting and my synthroid is plenty small without having to crush it so you should be ok.

Thanks everyone! That's what I was thinking--the Synthroid pill is quite small. If you all swallow it, I'm sure I can.

Oh--I'm so excited!!! Ready to defeat the O-beast(ity)! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
