Bandster Hell? Is That You?

Recommended Posts

I'm officially 6 weeks post-op and I have NO RESTRICTION!!..I mean if I eat too fast I get a stuck feeling but other than that everything goes down!...not to mention I shouldn't even be on full solids...but I guess a part of me is taking advantage...and that's what scares me.

That's normal. I'm guessing you have no fills or maybe one at the most. It usually takes multiple fills before you have good restriction. In the meantime, it's best to stick to a cup or less of food and try to make good food choices despite the lack of restriction.

Btw, good restriction doesn't mean certain foods won't go down anymore. The band is supposed to make you feel satisfied with less food for longer periods of time, not restrict the type of food you eat. The choice what to eat, or not eat, will always fall on you.

Best wishes

I was on solids about 4 weeks out so I don't see any harm unless your devouring prime rib or some other big red meat item?

Yeah, bandster hell sucks. You'll be hungry for some time till you get that one fill that helps you feel satiated.

Like forum member B-52 says...."Until there's restriction...It's just another diet"

Just wanted you to know you're not alone. Sheer willpower for me at this point. Only allowing myself that one cup but I'm hungry a lot. I know it's going to get better though so hang in there!! Green zone is on it's way.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
