Hi I have posted comments but never a thread!

I was banded December 2009. I had a rough post op period felt horrible and my potassium level was critical low then I have had 4 surgeries since mostly orthopedic and a car accident I'm still being treated for. I was introduced to this site this spring(it's a great site) so my progress has been slow but steady goal is to loose 100# as of today 68 pounds down. This week I had fluoroscopy to check restriction as I had a major food bolus stuck which caused reflux which has now healed. I was disappointed that I did not have a tiny fill but with 5cc in a 10cc band I was told I have good flow and restriction ???ŠSo now my challenge is mind over matter- we all will get to this point and I'm encouraged by all of you! I have always been embarrassed to use my lap band card but I used it this week to order off the kids menu and it felt great having a smaller portion served. Thanks for letting me share.

Lisa

I am glad that you are having some steady progress now! How did you know that you had a bolus? I think I might have something but I can't tell. Did you have any symptoms? Sorry for all the questions.

Sorry for such a delay I went out to eat and got food stuck and vomited violently which irritated the restricted area causing the irritation which lead to reflux the nurse practitioner at the Bariatric center helped me piece it all together when you have a food bolus you won't be able to eat as the area is blocked also it's painful.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
