I have a stomach bug, my second since my WLS (Dec '12). I think I have figured out why throwing up from this is way worse than from eating too much. This is food already past the band trying to come up, and it hurts trying to force its way through! It took me six incredily painful dry heaves to finally get something up. It wasn't even that much, but enough that it hurt like a you-know-what!

If anyone has any suggestions for what I should be doing during this time (other than avoiding foods and resting), please, please let me know. I feel HORRIBLE right now!

They sell drugs to combat nausea OTC in most drug stores, I'd have someone go get some for you. Perhaps even have your doctor call in something prescription to combat the nausea.

Not trying to scare you, but vomiting is one of the causes of slips, so you definitely want to avoid it at all costs. That's why many doctors will give band patients prescription anti-nausea medications even for common stomach bugs.

I hope you feel better soon!

I completely agree with Mis. Get some anti-nausea pills ASAP!!! As bandsters, we want to avoid true vomiting at all costs.

Zofran if your surgeon can call in a prescription. It melts in your mouth. There is also liquid phenergen.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
