Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

Recommended Posts

OMG I am so so happy to see this post. I am in my pre-op diet and need to loose somewhere between 150-180 lbs and even though I am dedicated to my decision to get lap band it seems that a lot of people...even people who are banded are very negative. Just seeing so many people who have lost at least 100lbs and even 200lbs lightens my heart.

Thank you so much,

Ashley

This gives me so much hope. I had so many people tell me that its rare that someone loses over 100lbs on the band. My gut told me that the band was the route I wanted to go. I just couldn't get comfortable with the bypass. I completely understand how the band works and that I must put forth effort to maximize its benefits. I'm just glad to see so many that have successfully lost 100+! Congrats to you all. I hope to see my name there some day!

This is all so amazing and inspiring!!! In my 3 month prep-program, most people were getting bypass and I feel like I was given so much negativity by the people in and running the program. It was like they were pushing bypass on me, although I was convinced I would do the band for safety reasons. I am so glad I stuck to my decision because I can see here that you all lost 100+ without doing something as invasive as bypass. I was banded two days ago and hope to join this list one day! Thank you all for this list and your willingness to share your stories. I hope to share more of mine soon!

hi,

definitely doable....i'm down 110 lbs. in 1 year. i worked hard to accomplish this. before i was banded i noticed some people that were banded for a few years that hadnt lost weight. they talked about dairy queen visits, margueritas, candy/junketc. this scared me. i thought am i getting an operation only to stay heavy?

then i saw another group that ate healthy, tracked their food, exercised, etc. They were successful with their program. i decided to follow this group. when i "fell off the wagon" i picked myself up and worked to get back on track. i'm not saying this to brag. merely to explain my process.

one thing i've noticed is lapbanders tend to keep weight off over the people i know that have had gastric bypass. reason being we need to develop skills to lose weight (such as writing food down , exercising, journalling).

on the the hand...bypass patients lose weight from the operation itself. anyone i know that has had that operation has gained all back and some.

this is just my experience.....not scientific by any means....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
