I was told to take Vitamin gummies by the dietician, but the nurse in the surgery center told me they would get stuck... Any advice on Vitamins? ??

I take gummies everyday. I have no trouble with them at all. I chew them very well before swallowing. I was banded 6/19

I do liquid Vitamins. Mix them with a little fruit juice (actual fruit juice - like the Bolthouse Farms that doesn't have all of the additives) or you can drink them on their own but they don't taste the greatest.

My nutritionist was adamatly against gummy vitamins. For one, the consistency she didn't care for (may not be able to chew them into an acceptable texture post-op). But what she disliked the most was the amount of sugar, calories, and carbs in most of the over-the-counter gummies. The ones that taste acceptable are usually coated with or made with sugar. I have seen a few brands that don't have a lot of sugar, but I'm trying hard to follow all of their advice so I switched to liquid.< /p>

Again, this is just the theory of my nutritionist, and the surgeon agreed. I've heard from a lot of people that they take the Gummy vits and they are just fine.

One of the problems with gummies is they don't have the mineral content that a regular Vitamin does. chewables are easy - Trader Joes has one, but Flintstones are good too!

I had the opurity Vitamins. They weren't bad, but were a little too sweet for my liking...

I have no problem swallowing regular Vitamins. One A Day has petite vitamins. They are a bit smaller and you take 2. I have never had problem swallowing pills but I can't keep down liquid Tylenol or Nyquil. It comes back up in a matter of minutes. Kind of weird.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
