Surgery Next Monday And I Can't Stay Full On This Liquid Stuff.

Recommended Posts

Keep drinking...mostly Water between your shakes. There are sensors in your stomach which liquids will "trip", and send the signal to your brain to turn off the hunger signal. I am still using this technique to successfully manage my hunger as I still have minimal restriction in my band. I usually have upwards of 90 oz of Water a day...but it works!

Also, there is real hunger and "head" hunger. You need to be able to differentiate between the two. As a bariatric patient, often we believe we are genuinely hungry, when it is really feeling "hungry" from habit, boredom, stress, or many other reasons.

Best wishes as your journey continues...

liquid doesn't give you that party in your mouth feeling, it just gives you a nice skinny liver... who wouldn't want that..... Drink lots of Water crystal lite and nothing says lovin like hot chicken broth . You can do this .

chels, if you want to have surgery, you must do this liquid diet. no one wants to do it, but it is required. can you have SF popsicles or Jello? crystal light and popsicles got me through it. if you can do this liquid diet, you can succeed. hang in there. the first days were the hardest for me.....

What are you liquids? Can you have broth? If so I would drink more of that between your Protein Shake meals. Broth has like 25 cals per cup.

In CT stop & shop has chicken broth with no fat, no sugar and 4 calories per cup and I can drink it cold or hot. My plan also includes sf Jello and sf popsicles, Decaf coffee and tea and crystal lite type beverages.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
