Was I Supposed To Be Taking Anti-Reflux??

I have been banded for two years. In the past month I have had reflux in the night that leads me to believe I will perish, LOL.

I found the prescription of Pepcid I was given at surgery. It was for 450 pills with 5 refills!!

Was I supposed to be taking this as a maintenance drug?!?!

Uh, because I wasn't.

Do you take anti-reflux maintenance meds?

Thanks,

Luu

I was banded April 25,2012 . I only took the meds for 30 days . My doc said if I had any problems we could start it back up . Thankfully I haven't had any problems . But I have read on here that night reflux could mean your to tight or band slippage . I would call my doc and ask a few questions on Monday .

My doctor only prescribed them for 30 days.

Your symptoms are signs of a band slip, you should have that check and not wait.

I've been taking medication for reflux for over 10 years. I was on too medications to control it because it was so bad. Part of my reason for banding was to be rid of the reflux. During my surgery they fixed a hiatal hernia that could be to blame for my reflux. My doctor told me to stop taking my reflux medication the day I was banded. I've been good for almost a week now. Yippee!!

goodness me, thats a lot of tablets. No, ive not had a single meds either before or after surgery. i had a hernia as well so im really glad im getting away with no meds for reflux. Are you going to get your band checked?? having these reflux issues... could it mean a slippage..do you think?? it needs to be thoroughly checked i think.
