  1. I have started coughing at night . Have acid reflex at night . Especially if I eat to late at night . Not vomiting , but not getting a lot of sleep . Is it possible that when I had a upper respiratory infection a few months ago , and had the most awful coughing I tore the hernia repair open and that is what is allowing all this to occur . I have had my band for over a year , and haven't had any problems with it at all.

  3. I'm a nurse and I worked 2- 16 hour shifts on the weekend . And when mine flared up it killed me . What I used to do is wrap my foot with a ace bandage and about 3 days and it would be relieved .
  4. I had a rash around the big incision , it itched so bad . My doc said it was from the stitches and to use benadryl cream . When they took the stitches out the rash went away about a week or so later .
  5. Not really sure , I had mine done at Palms of Pasadena in St. Pete , Fl . Where did you have yours ? Maybe it is location that factors into it
  6. $15,700.00 self pay , includes 1 year of fills .

  8. I also am a self pay . I was banded on April 25 and have lost 44 lbs so far . But my cost of surgery included everything plus a years worth of followup and fills . Are you sure you only get 3 months ?
  9. I've had hypothyroidism for about 8/9 years . I was banded on april 25,2012 . Went to my PCP for labs in may and was in a hyper state . I have lost 42 lbs so far . So we decided to leave my dosage the same as being in a hyper state will help with the weight loss . But it's a one line to walk and we have to monitor my labs frequently . Good luck with your journey

  13. I had my surgery 4/25 it went really smooth . Had pain for 2-3 days I think that was due to the hernia repair they done at the same time . I was up and walking the next day . The walking is very important . #1 it help to prevent the formation of blood clots due to immobility , #2 helps prevent pneumonia . So get up and walk and do the spirometer they give you . Good luck
  14. I had one freaked me out , I even emailed a pic to the nurse . Which I sure she was laugh at me . But like everyone said she told me to pull it out or drive the hour over to the office and they would take care of it . Needless to say I yanked that sucker out !!!!
  15. I used mine for the first time tuesday , we went to golden corral . And they gave me the discount . The normal price for the buffet is $10.99 , and they charged me the senior price $6.49 . Not a Hugh savings but more than I expected . So I will use my card from now on . And my doctor gave me a Lapband card , then I got a one in the mail that had all my info on it .
  16. I can also say that I was off them for a total of 2 months 1- pre-op , 1 -post op , and haven't gained since starting them back up in may . Listen to your body and talk to your doc . Goo luck with your weight loss.
  17. My surgeon had me stop my bc pills 30 days before surgery and 30 days after due to the risk of blood clots .
