I have hypothyroidism and have been banded almost 3 years. The loss of over 100 lbs hasn't affected my dosage of Synthroid, however. They do blood tests for my TSH every 6 mths or so and find it perfect, no reason to change my dosage. I've heard alot of people say that their dosage goes down with weight loss tho.

So yes, I have it and have been successful! Good luck to you! Oh, I've had it for over 8 yrs now.

Katie, good luck!!! let me know how it goes!!! I wont be having surgery until December over my christmas break :(

Marfar, thanks for the info!! great job!!

Katie my surgery is also the 3rd and I have hypothyoridism. Keep your dosage in line and you will lose.

Good Luck!

I've had hypothyroidism for about 8/9 years . I was banded on april 25,2012 . Went to my PCP for labs in may and was in a hyper state . I have lost 42 lbs so far . So we decided to leave my dosage the same as being in a hyper state will help with the weight loss . But it's a one line to walk and we have to monitor my labs frequently . Good luck with your journey :)

Thanks everyone. Only one more day. I will let you know how everything goes. So over these protein shakes!!
