Have You Reached Your Goal Weight?!

Recommended Posts

If you have, how long did it take you? Any advice to those who haven't reached goal yet. I get so upset with myself when I read about other success stories and here I am still not at goal or even close 6 months out.

Starting weight 286

Current weight 250

I meant to direct you to a magazine article Jean McMillan wrote down below. It's under "Recent magazine aticles" near the middle on the right side of the forums pages. Here's a link. It addressses your concerns about how others lose weight.

At 6 months out I was just STARTING to lose weight. It took me 2 years to lose 70 lbs. This is NOT a quick weight loss procedure. This is a marathon, not a sprint. You are down 36 lbs, that is awesome! 1-2 lbs per week is the average we can expect. I, personally, averaged 0.75 lbs per week when I was actively losing. But I lost it. That is all that mattered to me.

Concentrate on your eating and exercise habits, the rest will follow.

I have reached my goal weight a couple of times. Each time I do, I have a little bout of self-sabotage just to keep things interesting. LOL  I will regain 2 to 4 pounds and them struggle to take them back off. It's just something that I do. I have been banded for almost two years and took the original 60+ pounds off the first year. It's been a life changing experience.

Congrats on the 36 lbs! That is great!

Sweetpea, do not be too hard on yourself. We tend to concentrate so much on the numbers that we stress ourselves out-thus sabotaging our effort. The weight WILL continue to come off. The slower the better. I was blessed with quick weight loss-130 lbs in 12 months-and i contribute it to A LOT of walking and constant movement. Now, after three years, I still stuggle with my desire to eat. It's such a mental thing that it is only the band that is preventing me from regaining the weight. So, even after keeping the weight off for over two years, I am still struggling with learning how to react to food appropriately. It's not easy! Hang in there girl, you made a good choice and you WILL be succesful!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
