Is it just me or do others find that medical professionals treat you like a loser if you are overweight? Especially if you are a female? Its like you have committed an outrageous violation against society. You are treated like a commodity when you are a women. If you do not conform to society's standard of what women should look like, you deserve to be harrassed and hounded. Certainly being overweight is not good from a health standpoint, but do I deserve to be constantly critisized for being overweight? Its also hard for me because I have a neurological disease that will get progressively worse as time goes on. Maybe after I have the band put in and I lose weight people will give me some dignity and leave me alone. Susannah

Hmmmmm. Seems like the OzDocs have been learning a lot from the Yanks. But we are expected to honor them with the title "Doctor" preceeding their names...don't you guys still get away with "Mister?" See? It could be worse!

P.S.----Med school grads in general are bad enough. But surgeons think they are invincible. Which is why they are among the worst pilots in the world. Records indicate that surgeons, once committed to a course, just keep on keeping on. Even when they can SEE that they are headed right for a mountain. They simply cannot believe that they are wrong, and--it would appear--they expect the mountain to move. So they fly right into 'em. Time after time. Never fly in plane piloted by a surgeon. (Lawyers are equally bad, but for the opposite reason. They are unable to commit and keep debating with themselves. Right into the mountain.)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
