Looking To Form A "late June Bansters" Support Team. Want To Join?

I'm starting my pre-op diet tomorrow (6/7), band 2 weeks later (6/21). Anyone in a similar place? Want to form a team for support?

A few weeks post band we can join in with the current June Bandsters, but I thought it would be helpful to gather up a few of us who are later in June, and more in the same stage at this point.

What are your dates: Pre-o diet? Surgery?

What is your pre-op diet like and how is it going?

Are you telling anyone about your surgery?

Any thing else you'd like to share?

I'm June 27! Had my preop appointment today and started my liquid diet two weeks early. It was tough the first couple days, I find the weekend the most challenging.

Randella, finally a 6/26 buddy! :) I'll be doing the 2 week liquid diet with you. It's so great knowing we've got this wonderful support!

Me me! I'm the last June bander I think because I'm not til the 29th... start my pre op diet next Friday. I didn't think about how hard starting on a Friday would be so I'm going to tell mysef it's Monday ;). Little bit nervous but mostly excited and just want it to be TIME!

My surgery date is 6/28! Getting excited but starting to get really nervous about the pre op diet which I will start on 6/14...Is it strange at this point I am more nervous how I am going manage on the diet then I am about the actually surgery?!?

I'm June 27 also! I'm on 3 shakes a day for 3 weeks plus salad veggies. This is day 3 of the pre-op diet and though the hunger is getting a bit better I'm pretty envious of those who are on the southbeach or low carb. I am going to stick to it but I feel like an addict going through some cold turkey withdrawals...

I guess we are on the same diet pre op with the veggies and shakes...although they said I only have to do 2 weeks of it. Soooo nervous about it. Have a few get togethers scheduled right after i have to start the pre op. How are you doing with it? Do you still have energy?

I am happy to report tht day 3 is almost to a close and I feel much better now than the first 2 days, let me tell you. I was starting to get worried, I'm a chipper person and don't like to feel grumpy or lethargic.

I wanna play!

I'm June 19th. I'm starting my own' date=' self-prescribed pre-op diet on Monday after my pre-op appt at the hospital, My surgeon only requires a day before clear liquid diet, but after listening to everyone here, I am going to do a couple of Protein shakes and a very small meal. I'm very excited. I have told a few friends (very few, like 5), my family of course (who are EXTREMELY happy for me), my boss, and a few co-workers. My husband's family will NOT be told. At least not until I have to. They will not be supportive at all, they would be the ones watching me like a hawk and judging me.

I'm excited to begin my Renaissance.[/quote']

Me too! please let me know how you're doing in the process of your new life!

Hi all, I am new to this as well! I started my pre-op diet on 6/8(3week diet), my meet the surgeon is 6/12, my egd is 6/19 and my surgery date is for 6/29! Im excited and nervous but putting all effert into it! My pre-op diet is 2 protein shakes (still trying to adjust to taste and cover it up..lol) and 1 low carb meal a day! I've just told my family and on my facebook page as of yesterday, but scared something will make it not possible to have surgery so didn't want to tell about it! I praying for best outcome and willing to do my best, my minds set just nervous!

I can't decide who to tell. I'm on maternity leave right now so this is a great time to get myself started on this new path. Plenty of time to cement the good habits before heading back to work in November. So far only my husband, my mom and sister (they will be watching my munchkin while I have the surgery) and one pal who had the RNY 7 years ago...I would like to tell more of my friends but sometimes it seems even the best of friends seem to want to keep you in your "place"....? ie, its always nice to have at least one pal who's fatter than you to boost your self-esteem...passive-aggressive nonsense at this age you would hope.
