Surgery Was Yesterday

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Feels good to be on the other side with you all :)

My surgery was yesterday 5/15/12 and I had to arrive at 7:30am. Went into the OR at 9:30am.

Today, I feel ok. My one week post op visit is next Wednesday. I lost 18lbs during the liquid diet (very grateful).

Looking forward to healing and beginning my new relationship with my band :)

Excited for you!!!! I begin my journey tomorrow!!! How is the pain going for you? I have to have a hernia fixed as well as be banded. I am planning on going back to work on Monday.

No pain at all. I was banded a month ago today. First few days were rough but mostly from severe gas which is normal. Incisions have just about completely healed up. I had surgery on a Monday and I felt fine to go back to work on Wednesday but I ended up taking vacation.

You'll do great!!

Hey! Glad to hear to you doing well. I am the blue folder buddy who followed you through the upper GI, pre-op and then to the nutrition class last Tuesday. I am not needing pain meds either. Did you stay overnight? I came home that afternoon.

My pain is minimal. Mostly discomfort from the gas and I'm a little sore around my biggest incision. Gas-X strips have been my friend. No real desire to eat just enjoying sf Popsicles. I do miss my coffee with Creamer though :)

I think you'll do great. Just make sure you're up walking around afterwards. It helps with the gas and it helps you feel better overall. Good luck!

Update when you're feeling up to it.

Awesome! We are twins :)

I'm sore also, I took my pain meds to help with the pain while i move around. It was difficult for me to sleep last night due to the gas pains. But today I'm feeling better. I went in yesterday morning and was discharged early afternoon.

Feel better soon :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
