Stressed=Tight Band

Recommended Posts

Seems like when I'm stressed or over whelmed I cannot eat and if I do it's hard on me, does this seem familiar to anyone? I have been overwhelmed a lot lately with all my kids activities and finally got through one and ate nicely last night and even managed bread, very rare. Today I'm quite stress due to all going wrong and it's hot and can't eat, has this happened to anyone?

I've definitely noticed that my band is tighter when I am stressed.

Yes. This happens to me. I talked to my Dr. About and she said it is very normal and the band basically has a mind of its own. She said sometimes it will cause people to have some Fluid removed.

Yes, definitely for me. And my band has a total mind of his own. His name is Bandit, as he steals meals from me when I least expect it!

Yes, I get tight when I'm stressed, upset, sad, etc. Also when I worry about having to eat (when I go to visit my parents my dad always tries to cook for me, and I usually can't eat because I worry about upsetting him by not eating; it's very sad but stressful), I usually get tight too. Sadly, the best eating times for me is when I'm alone and just relaxing! I find then I get the least stressed out about eating and don't get tight as much.

Yes this happens to me. Also, early morning eating is out, I must always wait for my tummy to put out the open sign. Wheather changes hit me hard, from hot to cold, or cold to hot.

I to notice that stress has a major effect on my band. I am 2 1/2 years post op and often have to entertain clients for dinner. Many times I have sat a the table staring at my food while my clients eat and I know wondering why I'm not eating. I would take the first bite and get locked up as I call it, could not swallow another bite. Often have to excuse myself to the mens room to get some relief. This can be quite tough to deal with at times. I had been experiencing this more often recently and decided to have my band drained completely and start over. I obviously surpassed what everyone call the green zone. I had more the 50% fill on my band trying to force myself to loose weight. I have actually gained a few pounds since I emptied my band. I look forward to getting things back on track. Has anyone else had these experiences?

      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
