Hi everyone - thanks for all the well wishes!!! A few asked for my tips - so here they are:

  • I did not get restriction for the first 4.5 months and 4 or 5 fills - that was just "diet" time and I steadily lost - people need to treat the time before restriction as any other diet that we've all been on (like weight watchers etc.)
  • I stick to the 800 calories per day recommended by my surgeon about 80-90% of the time - but i have "cheat" days about 1x per week or 10 days where i eat whatever i want (quantity still small - i have restriction now) but it may be junk/m&Ms etc. The rest of the time i eat healthy. I think going up in calories once in a while "shakes up" the metabolism a little - you will see a gain (i weigh every day) after doing it but then the scale always starts moving back down once you go back to normal eating
  • I tell anyone who asks about the band surgery - keeps me accountable as i do not want to gain with everyone's eyes on me - that works for me - may not work for everyone
  • I've hardly exercised but i do go out of my way to walk longer, go up stairs instead of elevator, etc. in day to day life - it takes a conscious effort - i need to start doing regular exercise that is for sure - I have 18 left to lose to "goal" of 135 - and i'm sure this will be the hardest to lose.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
