so for awhile I have been noticing that I am losing restriction after xrays and trying to pull everything out of my band it was came to the conclusion that I either had a bad port or a hole in the tubing,as there was supposed to be 9 cc in my band and couldn't pull anything back so dr gave me a fill of 5 cc and had to pull out 2 cause I wasn't able to drink so I left with 3 cc in an 11 cc band the next month same thing should have had 3 cc in there and dr couldn't get anything out went in for surgery to see and low and behold there was a hole in the tubing, probably pierced from trying to find port Dr cut it pulled it up as there is excess and reattached it so now maybe I can get back on track, pay attention and don't let anyone tell you there is nothing wrong if you truly feel there is

You are so right: we shouldn't take no as an answer, though even the best docs may not be able to immediately figure out what's going on. I think patients need to be assertive in dealing with health care professionals. I'm glad you finally got your tubing problem fixed.

Oh wow. I am so sorry you have a leak AGAIN... in the SAME place. I would be so upset with my surgeon. I had a leak in my port, luckily when the port was replaced that fixed it.

I hope this fix will be the solution for you!

I just found out that there is a hole in my tubing too. Do you mind me asking how much it cost this time? Was it the same cost as your surgery? And if your insurance covered it the first time did they cover it this time too?

Rather than just replacing the tubing, will insurance cover a total band replacement? Obviously, there is more to the defect that just the tube.

I would wonder if it was actually repaired!! How frustrating!

I had my band fitted 21/04.2006, in first 2 years I lost only 84lb, it was then discovered under barium xray, I had been fitted with a faulty band in Belgium! The catheter was leaking portside. I went back and had this fixed in July 2008 and have now stuck at 140lb, i want to be 126lb. (it was fixed free of charge, I just had £1200 out of pocket expenses to find!)

Dr reckons I have a tight band now, but I am amazed by how much I can eat!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
