Band Removed 4/18/12- Food Still Getting Stuck!!!!

Recommended Posts

I WOULD LOVE ANY ADVICE THAT ANYONE CAN GIVE ME... I HAD MY LAPBAND FOR A YEAR AND IT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS FOR ME.. DUE TO SEVERE ACID REFLUX MY BAND WAS REMOVED 4 DAYS AG0... I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE THE BEST THING EVER.. MY SURGEON TOLD ME THE MORNING OF THE REMOVAL THAT ONCE THE BAND COMES OUT YOU PRETTY MUCH GO BACK TO NORMAL... WELL TODAY IS DAY 4 AND I TRIED TO EAT PASTINA (SOFT MUSHY FOOD)... THINKING IT WOULD GO DOWN CAUSE I WAS ABLE TO EAT IT BEFORE THE REMOVAL AND I HAD TO MAKE MYSELF THROW UP CAUSE IT GOT STUCK!! HOW IS THIS HAPPENING??? HOW IS MY food GETTING STUCK WITH NO BAND???? IM AT MY WHITTS END HERE.. IM LEAVING FOR ITALY IN 20 DAYS AND I REFUSE TO LET MY TRIP BE RUINED BECAUSE OF THIS NIGHTMARE THAT STARTED A YEAR AGO... IVE LOST 7 POUNDS SINCE THE REMOVAL BECAUSE I HAVE A LOT OF RESTRICTION SO THATS A PLUS.. IM JUST WONDERING IF THIS WHOLE STUCK THING IS TEMPORARY BECAUSE IM POSSIBLY SWOLLEN??? MY SURGEON TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO SLIP OR EROSION THAT THERE WAS NO ISSUES WITH THE REMOVAL SO IM BAFFLED TO AS WHY IM HAVING ISSUES WITH THE WHOLE STUCK ORDEAL!!! AS FOR THE SURGERY ITSELF.. IT WAS A BREEZE!! JUST A LITTLE SORE BUT DEF NOT AS BAD AS GETTING THE BAND IT...

SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME LIGHT, AND TELL ME IT GETS BETTER!!!

Maybe it is still swollen from surgery. The swelling could cause restriction. Did your doctor mention how bad the scarring was? That might play a role in your lingering restriction.

Hopefully it subsides and you feel better soon!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
