No More Muscle Milk Light Pre-Mixed Shakes...any Suggestions

Recommended Posts

I live on Muscle Milk Light pre-mixed shakes for a good portion of my diet (sometimes 2-3 bottles in a day) and the company has stopped making the original vanilla and also Cafe Latte. You can still get chocolate but not my favorite flavor. I have lost 45 pounds since Oct 15 and feel great (but still want to lose another 50 or so) but am so worried about what I'm going to do since I'm not a fan of the powdered shakes. Does anyone have a suggestion for a premixed brand that I can try? I love the convenience of the bottles...Thanks

I love Muscle Milk light but I recently switched to a GNC brand called Total Lean, Lean shakes. They only have chocolate, Vanilla & strawberry right now. I tried them a few months ago because they were out of the Muscle Milk Light and I liked them so much I haven't switched back. Good luck!

Jay Robb tropical dreamsicle powder is a nice treat. The other drink I did was the Premier nutrition pre-mixed chocolate from costco. I know they have a vanilla too, but I personally thought it was bad.

Eek! Jay Robb stuff has the most horrible aftertaste, at least the ones I have tried. I wish I could stomach them, because it gives me more energy than anything else I have tried. My nutritionist told me that muscle milk lite is not on their diet because there isnt 25 or more grams of protein..... I wish I could remember the ready to drink that I got a sample of and LOVED. How did I let myself forget??! Arrgh

I'm drinking Premier chocolate shakes. Lots of Protein, 30g, but I can't say I look forward to drinking them. But I'm still on my postoperative liquid diet. So I just miss food in general about now.

Premier shakes from costco are yummy1 These are the most affordable ready to drink shakes I have found at about $1.00 each. I also drink the Isopure smoothies, they come in yummy flavors like pomegranate berry and have 32 grams of Protein. I order them from Amazon for $2.88 each.

I am puzzled as to why you are drinking such a high portion of your meals. Are you too tight to eat proper food?

I agree, you shouldn't be only drinking your meals. It is not a good way to live, and likely, if you go back to eating, you will gain weight. Try to eat at lest 1 mel a day. Goodluck, Karen

Sorry to be a downer but my doctor said no liquid meals after you've healed. Otherwise you would'nt have needed the band in the first place

I tried the chocolate and vanilla jay robb and those definitely had an aftertaste that I couldn't stomach, almost like soapy residue. The dreamsicle is the only one that did not have it.

I was also told no liquid meals after mushy food stage unless it is for Breakfast due to a tight band. Solids will make you full longer and faster, so I have been told. But I like EAS shakes.....

Honestly, I am not a big fan of Protein Drinks nor am I a coffe drinker, but recently I had a Starbucks Skinny Vanilla Latte and thought it tasted pretty good and only a little over a 100 calories. Not bad for a morning pick me up:) But in order to get my Protein I decided to make my own concoction at home now with Decaf coffee cooled down, a little skim milk and a scoop of Unjury chocolate Splendor powder. MMMM Good and I get a lot of protein points from it to start my day out.

Go to AllStarHealth.com they should have what your looking for if not just buy a shaker bottle for the powder.< /p>

Everything is seasonably priced, and all shipping, no matter what you have bought will be $5.95.

Take a look, they have a lot to choose from. I know because thats where I shop. You can also check out ebay they have allot

to pick from. But check out the website i gave you first.

Good Luck, Shirley.

I just came from ther and they carry RTD, but you can get over 1 1/2 ls for under $20.00

A lot of different flavors including cake batter.

I still enjoy a shake for lunch.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
