I'm scared...my stomach hurts

Recommended Posts

This hasn't happened since I had the band. Today I didn't eat much (because I over did it) and just had Water and applesauce today. Then I got home and had a bite of a taquito and my stomach is like cramping almost but it's more of a persistant pain. Is something wrong? Could it be a sign of something?

Doubt it.. Just have some mild Soup & maybe a few crackers. A good glass of milk might help. My stomach used to sometimes cramp up when I didn't eat enough small measl throughout the day. Now that I am 9 mnths out its pretty tolerable of that. I do however soemtimes get light headed if I don't eat every 5 hours or so. I bet 99.99% your just fine. Make sure you drink some milk before bed to coat your stomach & get a good nights rest. Tomorrow start off with a good Breakfast like oatmeal & skip the coffee. Good Luck

when did you "over do it" and did you PB? The few times I have eaten too fast or didn't chew good enough I PB'd and didn't feel too good for a day. Everytime I have PB'd I've gone back to liquids and mushies ( smoothie King rocks). Drink some Water and see if it stays down. If it does you're probably alright. If you can't keep fluids down I'd contact your doc.

Also b/c I have no idea how long you have been banded- when I would cramp especially in the middle of the night I would drink 1/2 of an ensure & it would ease my gut. I did this for the first month after being banded & than didn't have too as time pasted.

Since November. But i'm not having trouble eating. It ended up getting worse before going away all of the sudden. WEIRD. But thank you so much for your input and concern! It's nice to know i'm not alone...

I think sometimes when we are first banded we think that EVERYTHING has to do with the band. But you know what? Bandsters get the flu, and a cold, and weird other things too that have nothing to do with the band.

That just means that you should probably go easy on food for a few days- stick to liquids and get some rest and you'll be good as new. If your symptoms get worse or you can no longer drink...then I'd call your doctor.

I know that since being banded I tend to become 'gassy' more than I ever did before, which can cause some pretty powerfull cramps. Gas-X works wonders..

I don't even have the band yet, but I am missing my gallbladder and taquitos or anything the least bit spicy make my stomach cramp up. I think it's probably just your tummy saying "hey this isn't for me". Chin up!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
