Need To Start This Journey Over- I Failed

Recommended Posts

Hi, my name is Jenn. I got my band in June of 2010- I was doing great for like 6 months, then I dont know what happened. I fell of the wagon and stopped doing what I was supposed to be doing and now my weight is back.

I have an appointment to get a fill and get a check up next month. I am so ashamed of myself. I could be at my goal and living the way I wanted to right now! But, I screwed it all up.

I need a lot of support....

We are here for you!!! Great thing about the band is that you can pick yourself up and start over. Jusr get back to the basic rules and you will be where you want to be. we all make mistakes and there is no need to beat yourself up over it. when u need motivation just log on. if u need to vent just log on..... I would suggest logging on everyday if u can,,, It helps to keep yourself on track while socializing with other bandsters!!!!!! Also I would suggest joining my fitness pal ro help keep track of your food intake!!!!!

just a question, how much Fluid did you have in your band before you fell off the wagon. just wondering, because the band is a tool and me myself am still new to this, i was banded on December 1, 2011 and have had 4 fills and have restriction and i am unable to eat a lot.

Is it because you did not reach your sweet spot?

I am starting my journey over again myself. I have been banded for 4 years now and have gained all my weight back. I went in for a fill last week and was suprised to find out I had only gained 1lb since August. I had no restriction however. I had 4cc in my band and my doctor added 1.5 cc's. This was too much. Couldn't even drink Water so went back and he took out .5 cc's. and I am doing great! I'm taking it day by day and I'm so happy at the end of the day when I am on track. I bought the book Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook for Dummies and am finding some really good recipes. Good Luck!

Many of us been there. Like you said ypu are starting over again.

First it is a mind control sitiuation. You have to surround yourself with people and places that are into what you are going to achieve.

Second you may have to start going to the support groups at the hospital you had your surgery.

Third, love yourself regardless. Love yourself enough to say you want the very best for YOU.!!!!

I know you can do it, I've been there were your at. One day I just woke up and got serious about me.

The same thing happened to me. I was banded Oct 2010 and the first few months were awesome!!! I lost about 45 lbs. I learned how to eat around the band and started falling back into my old habits. Needless to say, I totally fell off the wagon and gained some weight back. I started feeling really depressed which made me eat even more out of control.

Ive decided that I need to get back to it. Summer is close again and I STILL cant fit into the cute clothes that I envision myself in ;) My first week back ON i lost 4 lbs and the second week it was another 3. I think back at how i felt when I found out I was approved for the surgery( it was like I hit the lotto! awesome) then how it felt to hit the first 20 lbs lost mark (again... awesome) We can feel like that again!!! Just get back on and go!!! You can do it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
