Good morning everyone. Well I am officially band as of 9am Monday morning. It was indeed an experience I will remember. I arrived at the hospital around 5:47am and the procedure started at 7:30am. My husband stated that the surgeon talked with him at 9am and stated I was doing well and heading to recovery. By 11:30am, I was in my room and walking around by 3pm. I was in alot of pain at the port site with minimum to no gas pain anywhere. The staff informed me that I had the best surgeon anyone could ask for. That night there was alot of testing and make sure i sipped my Water and ate ice chips. They also made me work on my breathing. My blood pressure was 95/50 with a heart rate of 43, that was due to me being overly relaxed. Of course as the night went one, it increased to 112/64 with a heart rate of 53. On yesterday, before going home the bariatric coordinator took for an hour to explain everything to me. Trust me, I feel so blessed that each individual at the hospital and my surgeon staff truly equipped me with the tools i need to succedd. Our monthly milestones is 10 pounds a month.

To everyone, thank you for what you have done for me. I am just relaxing at home for the next two weeks before heading back to work on the 16th.

Ready2BFit...congratulations! So glad everything went well. It sounds like you've got a great doctor and support staff at his practice. These first few days might be a little tough...but hang in there. It will ease up and pretty soon it will seem like your surgery was forever ago. God bless!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
