Banded On March 23Rd!!!!!

Recommended Posts

My down fall Im not working out yet although I walk im not doing anything to get my heart rate going. Im just still a little uneasy about bending and moving fast. I was going to start my workout with the xbox 360 but my son decided to run his trucks over it and scratched it pretty bad so I have to get a new one. My dr told me no tummy exercises for 6 weeks which makes sense. Im just hoping for the scales sake she's in a better mood tomorrow morning. With the weigth gain im nervous to start mushies friday :( I just dnt knwo what to do.

Hey Twin thats great thaty your getting so full off of a few bites. How is your back feeling? Hey I have an idea when we all get to our goal weight we should all plan a trip together....Since we are all banded together and in it together lol Im such a dork.... :D

OK so today not so good...IM scale OBSESSED <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I didn't want to become this way it just happened. I weight when i get up and at night ugh I woke up today only for that b*tch to tell me that I have gained 2lbs r u kidding me. Im on liquids how could this happen? So I call my sister( much much smaller sister) for some support and to talk me off the ledge. She tried to tell me everything and then she said something that made sense to me she said maybe your retaining Water? ?? Way to go sis! I will take it! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Lmaooooo...Oh my God! U are tooo funny! But yes, I'm sure it is just water retention. Like u said, ur still on liquids, so it can't be possible for it to be anything else! Lol But u should really try not to weigh urself every day, Twin. As u see, look how it's affected u. U can't let a couple of pounds taint ur success! It is a TEMPORARY gain. Of that I am sure. I do admit I'm VERY scared to look at the scale. If been pretty good on my mushy choices. Trying not to eat anything that may have lots of cals or carbs. N I understand I prolly won't be losing weight as quickly anymore but I too would momentarily freak if I have gained weight. So to deter my insanity as much as possible I've made it a point to only weigh myself on Fridays. Lol

I'm starting to feel the itch to start working out too. Although I hate it soooo. I'm hoping to find Zumba classes near by or something to make it more bearable for me. Unfortunately, the only one I've found so far starts at 6pm--the time I get OUT of work. =\ But yeah, I wouldnt push it with any core exercises. At the end of the day, my back is still killing me n my abs actually feel sore. I guess just sitting up for so long causes enough contraction for now. So I can't imagine actual crunches n stuff. Lol

That was pretty corny (j/k lol) but that totally sounds like an awesome idea!!!! Especially to go on a trip with people that can hardly as well!! Lmaoooo That's my biggest issue with my summer vacations right now. Lol

Well, unfortunately mine is still sensitive. =\ It's definitely manageable tho. N I have no issues moving around. I say by my 3rd day post op I started moving without much fear. U have to make sure to drink ur Protein. The biggest reason is because it promotes healing. N do try to walk. Super super important! What may also be bothering u is the gas n u might be mistaking it for pain of ur incisions.

I'm glad ur day went well n ur enjoying ur mushies! Started solids today. Pretty scared since the scale didn't budge on mushies. Am planning on starting my walks today (as I can't do full work-outs till after month). Hoping that will prevent any weight gain from the solids. =\ Good luck with ur workout!!! What exercises are u planning on doing?

Hey Twin yeah the website acting crazy had me bummed out. I get on here everyday or every other day just to kinda check in or read up on stuff but its wouldn't let me do anything ugh. So glad it's back to norm now.

Your lucky to be starting foods now I can't start mine for another week. The mushies have been going good for me I find myself not as hungry and I still drink 2 Protein Shakes everyday. I mainly stick to cottage cheese and yogurt and I have 1 cup instant mashed potatos that I take to work if I get hungry. But so far so good. Easter i kinda ate a little more becuz it was a holiday lol. But it was all mushy :D

So as far as no weight gain no weight lost it's going to happen no worries there just keep doing what your doing it's going to come off. As far as workout I have a gazelle it's like a sking machine i guess it works your whole body and it's fun. I aslo have a treadmill but it's a manuel one so it's super had to do. My dr cleared me so light exercise just no kinda ab workouts.

My incision where my port is the corner is kinda infected so I have been cleaning it and putting neosporin on it, it's starting to itch so im assuming it's healing. But other then that everything is goin ok.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
