Obviously, my name is Sara and I hail from the great state of Texas, Dallas to be exact. I first began contemplating WLS about three years ago when a trusted friend from church suggested it to me. (She had a bypass several years ago) I dismissed the idea at the time because I thought the idea of surgery was too drastic and was the "easy way out". I began to seriously consider last year after my cousin had the RNY and lost a lot of weight. I could see that it was not the easy way out and I realized that I simply couldn't lost the weight on my own. However, I was still not convinced that RNY was the answer. I began researching surgery on obesityhelp.com and discovered the Lap Band surgery. From the moment that I read about it, I knew that it was what I had been looking for. I called a surgeon(Dr. Provost) and was sent the information packet. I went to the information meeting in January of this year and was told that it would take at least a year to get in for an initial consult. :( But I decided that I would go ahead and take the chance. Two weeks later, the doctor's office called with an appointment with their new doctor, Dr. Watson. Once I met with Dr. Watson, I was positive that I was doing the right thing.

I had surgery on 6/10 of this year. So far I have lost about 28 lbs. (I started at 355) I am on my second week of solid foods and am struggling a bit. I am looking forward to getting my first fill soon.

Btw, I am 33 years old. I am single and live alone. Once this depressed, but now I am enjoying my independence and look forward to a whole new world of opportunity to open up for me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
