Finally Feeling Some Restriction!

Recommended Posts

I had my second fill on Tuesday, 2/28 of 2ccs. That puts me up to 4.5cc's total in an 11cc Realize Band. I was banded on 11/23/11 and have had a really super hard time with how hungry I have felt and not feeling any restriction with food. I know there are others out there like me, feeling so frustrated..

Immediately after my second fill I felt restriction. Sipping the Water in the doctors office, I could hear the gurgling of it going through the band. I am now a couple days out and still feeling good restriction.. It's so exciting! FINALLY.. this is what it feels like! I ate oatmeal this morning and I could feel it sitting in the pouch, processing slowly.. and I wasn't hungry again for at least 4 hours. Amazing!

Now.. the doctor said that she would be very surprised if I felt any restriction with this fill.. Do you guys think it's just because I may be swollen? Or are there actually bandsters our there that feel restriction with less than a half full band?

I think it's going to be easier for me to have my band tight.. I've read that some people like it like that. I have NO willpower, I need my band to tell me NO! Going for my next fill on 3/29. Can't wait.

I'm at 5.25ccs/10ccs and I can totally feel restriction. I've had two fills and I feel really tight and restricted right after the fill, and then after about a week it fades some. With my first fill, after a week it was like NOTHING was in my band at all. This second fill, I can tell I've still got restriction and stay pretty full.

Hopefully you've hit the magic green zone!

I also have an 11cc Realize band and just had my first fill yesterday of 3cc. I do feel a difference in the length of time I go without hunger, but I don't feel any true restriction yet. My surgeon started me with 3cc because he said most of his patients reach restriction between 3 and 8cc in the 11cc band. Hopefully, you're one of the lucky ones who falls on the low end of that scale. Don't overthink it; just enjoy it! :)

Glad I found this post! I was banded 12/14/11with a 10cc band and have had one fill so far of 2.8 cc's Like you I dont really feel any restriction and it has been kind of dishearting. I know the docs and everyone here keeps saying it takes time at least until the 2nd or 3rd fill to really start making a diff ... it just kinda makes you wonder until you get to that point! Glad to hear what I am feeling now while waiting for fill #2 isnt so odd and that its par for the course. I go for fill #2 on 3/12 so hopefully I will be that much closer to the greenzone (or at least a bit more restriction).

For those of you who have been banded for a while and have made it to the "green zone" how many fills did it take you?

Maris0l, you should definitely talk to your provider about getting another fill. My doctor says that some people will not feel restriction until their band is almost full.

Jsi69i, there is a great post under the Lapband Fill forum called How many cc's in your band. Check it out. Lots of posts of how many CC's people have in their bands and whether they are in the green zone. It's really all over the board. Depends on the person.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
