Trouble With Going To The Bathroom

Recommended Posts

Thanks so much for asking this question! I was hoping there was a topic on here already about this! ;)

I am nine days post op and I was having issues before my surgery and I am still having issues. I think I will be picking up some Miralax today.

Senna plus (senna-s) is also an over the counter pill, that really works also. 1 or 2 tabs daily or every few days and it works. It is not harsh on the system, gentle and easy to take.

Just so you know - it can take a combination of adding Fiber and making sure you're drinking enough liquid also or you can get severely constipated and that is hell! Been there and done that before surgery and after...stool softners are good also. Contrary to some beliefs you don't get dependent on them honestly! walking helps too - I guess it's the gravity effect! Good luck all - Linda

OTC miralax is same as prescription. The strengths are the same. Difference is that if you have insurance it is much cheaper to get the prescription PEG and a larger amount... Although, many store brands are coming out now , Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, so you should see the price go down... You can easily buy OTC with same results as prescription ....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
