Im Starting To Freak Out Over My "bump" Image Included

Recommended Posts

UPDATE:

I seen my surgeon on Thursday. He gave me a fill and kinda laughed when I told him I was so concerned over my port sticking out. He said "Honey, your port is down here" and showed me where it was..about 3 inches below where this huge knot is. The knot is right under my incision. So I just said "Oh, what is that tissue or something". He had his back turned to me and kinda gave me a half hearted "yeah something". I didnt think about it and thought everything was fine..but now..a few days later..I am starting to freak out all over again. I can pinch it and feel that it is somthing disk shaped. Imagine holding about 3 pennies pinched between your index finger and thumb. Turned sideways. I can actually grab whatever it is. This cannot be tissue. It has to part of the band right?

Im almost 3 weeks post op. All my swelling is gone, I have no pain..but since day 1 I could see and feel my port. I can feel every aspect of my port. When I wear sweatshirts it sticks out. I cant hide it. I know people say they can see their port once they lose weight but mine is HUGE. Im including a pic but even the pic doesnt do justice of how much it sticks out. Last night, when we were laying in bed my husband laid a quarter next to it and it rested on it fully..its sticks out the length of a quarter! is this normal? Should I be able to see and feel every aspect of my port?<a href=6876730509_11b9ee9970.jpg' alt='68767305

it almost sounds like you have a hernia at your port site, I would contact your surgeon and have him/her look at it.

Mine is much more obvious than yours. I cannot wear tight t-shirts. Looks like a golfball right under a thin layer of skin. I can feel every nook and cranny of the port, plus the tube is obvious also.

I do not have much fat at all on my belly, As a matter of fact it is hard. Been banded for 13 months, always been that way. People have asked me if I have a hernia.

When I get my fills, the Dr. always smiles and says "Oh good, I like these easy ones"

You should definitly call your Dr. My Dr said you shouldn't be able to see the port and you should only feel it if you press down, but every Dr is different on their placement and attachment of the port. I can't see my mine and j have to be laying down to feel it.

at first when I saw it I would have been mad if it was mine! But you know what, when you lose the weight it would more than likely show anyways. So there prob isn't much fat on top of it that you would be losing later. Hopefully it wont get any more noticeable than that.

Hah! You should see mine when I am in the swimming pool; then it really sticks out! It makes me feel good to have it there when I lay down, it gives me confidence!

That doesn't look right. I can feel mine, but you can't see it protruding under my skin.

I'm 3 weeks out and mine can be felt pretty well...but not really seen, that I've noticed. Wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor about it though.

Wow! I've read people saying they can feel their port, but I had no idea it could be this noticeable. I can't feel or especially see mine at all!!!!! Weird.....I wonder if I really have a band? lol

At only 3 weeks post-op, that looks like a flipped port to me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
