Not New Just Coming Back

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone.... I am not new here...I have actually been banded since May 5, 2005. I am struggling and need to get myself back on tract soooo here I am. I actually was very very very close to meeting my goal. Then, I got pregnant. I had my beautiful baby girl in December 2009~ and have not dropped the weight I gained with her. I was diabetic during my pregnancy so I think that sorta contributed to my weight gain...but I also fell off the radar and didnt do much in regard to keep my weight down.. I got all the Fluid removed from my band in the beginning of the pregnancy...and I didnt follow up with my LapBand doctor. I screwed up....ALOT..... BUT I am here now and I am recommiting to do this. I have set certain goals for myself and I am going back on the plan and I hope that within 6 weeks, by March 4th I would like to drop atleast 16 pounds. I am very much considering bypass surgery.....but.... I want to know I have done everything I can do with this LapBand before going through yet another surgery. As it stands right now, I am at 260 pounds, 5 foot 4 inches tall. When I got banded back in 2005 I weighed in at 289...... At my lowest weight during the last almost seven years, I was at 168 pounds~!~!~!~ I am an emotional wreck over this weight loss challange.... I recently also lost my father who was my biggest supporter in getting banded in the first place.....at this point....I am clawing my way back up, or down the weight loss ladder..... and I hope to reconnect with some old friends I made here...along with make some new ones.....

Thanks for reading....and I will talk to you soon~!~

Ciao

Welcome back :) First order of call is to get a fill to be honest, its a shame u didnt get refilled after your baby but at least you know what the answers are. A bypass maybe what you end up having but give the band a chance to work again, it sounds like it did before and will probably again if u get your motivation back.

Good luck in restarting things.

Sorry to hear about your father.

Thank you Cazzy~!~ I have been back to my doctor since the baby was born and have been filled, and unfilled, and filled and unfilled....I am not following the program as its been written...so I aggrovate my band, and end up getting the Fluid taken out, then once the aggrovation goes away and swelling goes down, then i get the fluid back...but your right.... I should have gone as soon as she was born. I should have not had all the fluid removed from my band either.....bad choices all the way around...BUT Im here now, and I am recommitting...... I cant take this battle any more...and I know its not going to take care of its self...would be nice though to just wake up thin huh??

Welcome back :)

I'm newly banded, however I've been a mom for over 17 years, and one thing I know is weight gain during pregnancy is inevitable. I also know losing it after isn't easy.

Have you considered approaching this like you're newly banded? Go back and meet the nutrionist again. Heck, maybe even go on a week's liquid diet just put yourself back in the mindset and "purge" your body of all the bad stuff? You did so well before, I really do believe you can again. I just think it's a matter of putting your mind to it.

I think you also need to quit looking at it as though you failed. You most certainly did NOT fail. You had a beautiful baby and gained weight like almost every other mother does. You can only fail if you do nothing about the problem. You're here, you're trying, you're definitely doing something.

...think of this as just another new beginning :)

Can someone please help me. I have been banded for two years. I lost 45 pounds the first six months and kept it off. I'm now at 160 so I wasn't really really overweight but I still really want to lose 20 or 30 pounds. I cannot lose any more weight. I hardly eat because everything gets stuck so I end up eating crap in the evening because nothing goes down. I need honest advice. I have not been out to eat with anyone in two years. TERRIFIED they could tell because I cannot eat in front of people. I take TINY bites - it still gets stuck. I have friends who appear to eat normally almost but maybe just not as much and they have lost like 70 or 80. I was at dinner one night and could barely eat my Soup - she ate a salad, some bread, fried shrimp and a baked potato. I could have died! She must eat anything but just small portions of stuff because she's still losing and I have not lost any weight in 1.5 hours.

Please I need HONEST comments how small are your bites. Seriously the only thing I can eat is like Pasta with VERY buttery alfredo sauce - taco meat with some sour cream - fried mushrooms - that's it! If it's not super greasy I can't get it down. I am going to have some more taken out but I need to know how small of bites are you actually taking!

First of all i hate the words "i should of", you didn't and that's ok. I agree with Sandymax, he has forgiven you, now you need to believe it. you have a beautiful baby and are ready to go again.

I agree with others here; start some kind of exercise program, start drinking Water again, plan your food.

put you first(I know that is hard with a toddler) if you do the baby wins too. I really love myfitnesspal.com to log my food. keep posting your progress(both good and not so good) on this forum. we are not going to judge, we want you to succeed.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
