Help!! I'm Eating Way Too Much!!

Recommended Posts

Maybe I shouldn't reply to this because I am not following the adivce I'm about to give. I got my band in 09, and it has been very good for me. Restriction, as most discribe it, doesn't happen for me. I can eat bread and steak most of the time; but I have a fickle band that won't let me have an egg in the morning, or I can eat oatmeal and feel like I'll die. I choose the band because I didn't want to be on a diet the rest of my life. I understood that I would need to take responsiblity for the amounts of food I eat and that's what you will need to do. In the early stages I had a good mind set and just didn't overeat, stayed away from sugar and the weight came off. I did a shake in the morning, chicken & veggie for lunch same for dinner and lots of Water. I find now that I am not hungry, so I don't eat and my body is holding on to everything. I also don't drink enough water and have gotten hooked on coffee (which has always been like eatting to me), I also find that I'm not good with my vitiams as I should be. Fills will help you find the spot, but your mind must take the lead. Once you start to listen to your body you will realize that it will tell you that you have enough and should stop eatting. Slow down when you eat so that your brain will have time to send out the right signals to you. Use the smaller plates, no seconds, measure if you can and chew slowly. All these things help but it is most important to get in the Protein you need daily, Take charge of the band because it doesn't make the weight come off you do.

What's that old saying...Welcome to bandster hell, sorry I had to meet you here! This will get better. As others have said, you have to watch what you eat and the amounts you eat. I keep a journal and when I have hit 1100 calories in a day, I stop eating! Sounds simple, but there are days that it is hell. I have also plateaued for short periods of time (usually when I am on vacation), but when I go back to my normal diet, the weight starts coming off again. Get that willpower going and get a fill if the willpower isn't working.

I was banded on 12/16 and I feel the same way, my first fill was on 1/18 and I feel no restriction. I go back for my 2nd fill on 2/15 and i can't wait. I haven't lost any weight but I haven't gained any either, so that's a good thing. When i went for my 1st fill i was concerned b/c i hadn't lost any more weight so I mentioned it to my dr and he said that i was doing good. He said that he didn't expect me to lose any more b/c i had no restriction and that after a few fills i would start to have restriction and then I will see the lbs coming off..So hang in there, as you can see you're not alone. We can do this, one meal at a time....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
