approved by the insurance? or the Dr.? I wouldn't think so. I do believe it would have to do with your initial weight at your first weight in. I assume they go by that. They did with me.

I have been worried about this too, but I think that it's really only something to be concerned about if you're at borderline BMI. Otherwise the insurance company just sees your supervised diet weight loss as a sign that you're really serious. I have been reassured of this by several different health professionals. So don't let that stop you from doing the best you can. :)

The number that matters is at your initial consultation to validate you being approved by insurance and of course for your surgeon to start the process with you, and lastly the weight at the pre-op. If you go below the BMI needed to be approved by insurance, you may not get covered.

Yes, it will affect the decision to get approve. I had to make sure that my BMI was high enough so that the insurance company would cover it. The nurse told me that I needed to make sure that I stayed at the right BMI. Blue Cross Blue Shield is really particular about that. It does not matter after, they get all the information in. If you decided to lose after the consultation and change your eating habits. I tell you to go for it, but not before the consultation.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
